Two Events Cancelled As Tropical Storm Approaches
 

Two annual events scheduled for this weekend in The Villages have been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Nestor. Nestor is expected to make landfall in the Florida Panhandle this weekend, and will bring with it high winds and rainfall.

One of the events cancelled due to the storm is The Blessing of the Animals event which was originally scheduled for this Saturday morning at Hope Lutheran Church. In a statement from the church, the event has been cancelled as a safety precaution for all of the animals and attendees.

In addition, The Property Owners’ Association has cancelled their paper shredding event at the Lowe’s parking lot at Trailwinds Plaza on County Road 466A. To ensure the safety of all volunteers, POA President Cliff Wiener decided it was best to lean towards the side of caution and cancel the event. If you are a POA member with tickets, you should hold onto them for a rescheduled date.
