Elijah Cummings

We have lost a courageous civil rights leader. This American Hero lies in State and can be viewed live.

A good man who did his duty as he represented his constituents. We should all strive to serve as well as he , irrespective of our political persuasion

It is amazing to me how good and honorable men like Elijah Cummings, John McCain, George HW Bush and others are disrespected in death by many people because their politics weren't in alignment with theirs. Shameful and troubling.

That goes all ways. Inside of all politics are rivers and valleys and persuasions and intensities that are disliked and opposed and credited and loved and hated. It all depends where you are standing and if you are one of the rare humans with a truly open mind.

Politics is really just a popularity contest and not often the selection of the best, but the least offensive. Most decent and honorable people give politics a wide berth.

But there are people like The Honorable Elijah Cummings who decide to dedicate their lives to making other lives more bearable.

If people are disrespected in death, they probably were disrespected in life also.

For those honorable and honest men mentioned, I do not believe any of them were disrespected in life. DISAGREED with, maybe, but DISRESPECTED....no.

We seem to have lost disagreeing with respect.
