Turkey day leftovers. Your favorite use for them?
I have turkey noodle soup bubbling gently on the stove.
Many of our friends make Turkey Tetrazini. (That isn't spelled right) I can spell Spaetzle. Turkey sandwiches we love too. With Hellmann's mayonnaise and salt and pepper on oatmeal bread. |
Cold turkey sandwich, lots of mayo, with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Also hot turkey on single slice of bread than pour hot gravy over it. Pumpkin or apple pie for breakfast. Turkey pot pie.

My Fav???..............everything for 72 hours.
After 72 hours, nothing. |
I love mashed potato pancakes with left over mashed potatoes. Add a little egg and flour and fry them up.

We just had big plates of stuffing and turkey covered with gravy with butternut squash and green beans on the side. Yum

Reheat the leftovers the next day. Turkey day redux.
Then Turkey Casserole with the final remains the day after that. |

I chop the meat into small pieces for dog food. Our fury friend seems to like the treat of leftover turkey.

Turkey Shepards' Pie
Spray a baking dish with Pam, spread layer of stuffing, layer of chopped or cut up turkey pieces, layer of mashed potatoes, layer of gravy and finish with leftover green bean casserole (I usually have to add a few more green beans to this). Top with onion rings and bake until heated through.

Turkey pot pie is my favorite way to use left overs. I use a pie shell, turkey, veggies, mushrooms, shredded cheese w/sour cream and top with fried onions...yum

I make turkey oyster gumbo, and serve it with apple/celery/walnut salad (with Hellman's mayo!!) We also enjoy turkey sandwiches on toast, with mustard, pepper and lettuce.
|
We have a recipe called Leftover Turkey Soup which also has any pasta/noodle you like.
