You might want to check with master gardener to see if this type of tree is suitable for this location. Many times people (including yours truly) put in plants that were not suitable for this climate only to have them removed after they died.

The Florida version is Bottle Brush that grows tall and skinny in leaps and bounds. Today's two footer becomes 12 feet tall in about five years. And may irritate the neighbors.

The Bottle Brush tree does not grow tall and skinny and does not resemble the Italian Cypress at all.
Are you confusing it with some other tree?

The Italian Cypress will grow in our zone. I suggest that the OP call local garden centers to see if they have any or can get one. If the look the OP wants is thin, upright and tall, there are a number of shrubs or trees that would fit the bill although the Italian Cypress is fast growing and will grow taller than most other things.

First, have you done a search on the net. You will probably find a nursery in Miami who grow them and will ship. I buy a lot of my plants on the net, have always been pleased.

If you would like to see some growing, there are two that are very tall and planted very close to the house for protection from high winds on Southern Trace north of 466 and just after you enter TV gate on the right hand side. One has already been damaged at the very top.
