XM in Golf Cart?

Is this possible? If so, who can do it? We are getting ready to purchase cart and want to know options for radio.

I agree, I use the XM app with two great blue-tooth speakers. The speakers were an option when I purchased the cart and were installed by the dealer.

What he said above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ but if you already have an XM sub in your car "app listening" is now included for free. You just have to create an account online. Since it recently became "included on all accounts" you may have to call them. Previously it was only included on the "all access" sub.

I use a Bose Bluetooth speaker and my IPhone. Works perfect.

We've had Sirius for years in our car and my work truck. I used the receiver previously from my work truck and installed that, car radio, and speakers in the golf cart. Work fine.

OP, short answer is YES it is possible as noted above. Also, if you do not want the above solutions, you can purchased a MARINE grade radio (12 volt) with the service you want built in, and have this installed. If you have an overhead tray, this is very easy, and then you already have a suitable location for the speakers.

My neighbor had an XM radio installed in his cart by Best Buy about six years ago, cost him $650.

Yikes. That's insane .... but that's Best Buy. I bought an "XM Commander Touch" off eBay last year that came with 6 months of service for $20 for $50. Took 30 minutes to install in my Atomic GC.

That radio is currently on sale at Best Buy for $21.99 with free installation and 3 months free service. Good deal for anyone looking for one.

XM Commander Touch

XM Commander Touch

Thanks for the heads up. What did you use for speakers, did you get an overhead panel? Free installation sounds good, but not good for a golf cart since BB is not golf cart accessible.

That's what I do; XM on the iPhone with a JBL portable speaker.

I installed this:
Robot Check

I strapped it up in the back of the cart and ran power wires to it inside the same channel where the wires for the back lights run. I installed a 12 volt switch that I purchased at the auto supply store up front which allows me to easily and quickly turn it off if I need to. The switch also ensures the battery does not drain when not in use. It is a bluetooth device so I can listen to anything from radio stations to google play music, to pandora, etc. via the phone. The unit is water proof, runs on 12 volts, and is designed for bouncy enviornments.

That's a nice setup. I was thinking of something more permanent and also I have XM in the car and that Best Buy radio sounds like a good deal. This console comes with speakers and is only $135 with shipping and then just slide in the XM Radio.

Best Buy has an XM Radio for cars for $20 that would probably fit that console.
