Painting Garage Door and More

Do we need permission from the Villages to paint our Garage door? What about our shutters and front door?
We want our front door and shutters to match, right now they do not.
My wife is thinking a Cranberry color and we have seen this color on many of the homes in our area.

Most likely you will need permission from the Architectural Review Committee but it may depend on where you live as not all of the Deed Restrictions are identical. You can access your specific Deed Restrictions, which outlines your responsibilities, at districtgov.org.

The general rule is if you are making any changes to the outside of the house call for approval.

OP, if you are going to do this yourself, I would get a airless sprayer, set on the low paint setting, remove the side weather striping, tape the windows and hardware, driveway, etc., and then spray paint the door. I would also move the door up and down to catch the joint areas, and allow time for the joints to dry completely before completely opening or closing the door. Good luck with your project.
