I have given up getting these TV repaired if out of warranty, I replace. When my really nice 3D flat screen failed I tried to get the TV repairman to fix it to no avail. I ended up with a bill for over $100 and a dead TV, so now I replace. The new 75 inch 4k TV replaced the 55 inch ($1550) for around $900.
At the time I did a Google Maps search for TV repair, as i recall the closest was Ocala. Good luck. |

If you have some round, bright areas then some diffusers have come loose. These are easily fixed - check Youtube for details.

I have a 75" Samsung 4k LED TV that I bought new at Best Buy in 2017. It listed for $2350 and I got it for $1599 on a closeout. After two years, last spring, the TV went black with no power.
I called Best Buy Geek Squad. They said they can come and diagnose the problem for $99 but would not fix it at that time. To return and fix would be another $99 plus the price of the part. They said you get a 1 year Geek Squad membership for $199 and we will cover all your electronics no matter where you bought them for $49 a visit. So I joined Geek Squad for $199. They came out and looked at the TV and said your power board went out. I was billed $49 for the visit. Exactly five days later they return with the power board and fixed the TV for $49 plus the price of the board which was $180. So total price was $199+$49+$49+$180=$480 to fix the TV. Last spring Best Buy had a brand new 75" TV for $899, if the repair cost was much higher I would of gone that route. On Black Friday a 75" TV was as low as $749, with prices like this, it doesn't pay to repair a large TV anymore. I love the 75" TV size, but many people are happy with a 65" and that is found usually for less than $600. Best Buy Geek Squad |
The TVs are easy to repair for those that have no picture or completely dead. Not sure about the back light but if I found it on your curb I would grab it. I have some dirt poor relatives.
It is the undersized capacitors in the power supply. I would detail how to do it but frankly no one cares. You replace individually not as a board It costs about 15.00 and takes no special tools other than a five dollar soldering iron. |

I called Samsung about a screen defect on a 60 inch TV that was still under warranty about 2 years ago. A few days later, a guy showed up in a van with a new screen and replaced it in about 10 minutes. I was amazed that the only thing inside the TV was a small box inside the back panel and some wires. I also didn't understand why they didn't just replace the entire TV, but it still works fine.

Bob's TV repair on HWY 441 towards Belleview did a good job repairing my Samsung couple years ago.
