Dentists

What’s with dentists in the villages?
They seen to get angry if you simply ask how much it will cost.
Been to one dentist had xrays, teeth cleaned covered by UHC Villages. Then office manager comes in after the exam wants
$4,300.
Root canal & crown one tooth $1,900 & $2,400 for a second tooth.
They can’t tell you want insurance they take or what it will cost with insurance.

Don’t mind paying but don’t like to get screwed

The worst part of moving to FL. Went to Orlando for dentist recommended by friends living there, he was a neighbor, due to the dishonesty of dentist around TV. Now go to UF. Originally was told 4 fillings needed to come out due to cracks, had advanced periodontal disease and needed root planeing. This after seeing the same dentist for 30 years with not one issue. Was 2 months late on cleaning and all this had happened. Had old dentist call dentist here in TV, got all xrays, details and spoke to one here in TV. He called back and said to never set foot in that office again, they were chasing dollars. Have heard this over and over again about dentist. Sure hope part of the UF medical take over here in TV includes dental!!!!

Which is why we and several of our neighbors go to Dr. Pruett at Lakeview Dentistry.in Tavares. His practice doesn't rely on TV. In the last five years he hasn't done anything without fully explaining what, why and how much. His practice is technologically advanced and forward looking. Getting out of the bubble will often give you the services you seek.

I've had the same experience with the dentist in my dental plan.

After several tries to find a dentist who will only do what's necessary I was advised on TOTV, to go Dr. Forrest Jerkins.

Although he doesn't take my insurance, I still find it cheaper than going to someone who wants you to make a down payment on a house.

Phone # is 352.728.8881. Check to see if you have insurance that he takes!
