Looking for someone to replace kitchen sink and faucet.
 

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I’m not a DIY’er.

OP, you might want to provide some additional info, faucet should not be a problem as long as the new one uses the same holes in the counter top. The sink can be a whole different story. If you have a drop in and you are replacing with a drop in (assuming the same size), fairly straight forward. If you have an under hung sink this is probably a bigger job. If you replacing one type with another type, probably a bigger job yet. I would suggest on of the larger plumbing companies. get an estimate first.

It would be a drop in, same size, and I’d be removing or disconnecting the garbage disposal to allow for a greater depth. We don’t use the disposal, so it wouldn’t matter. I’d make sure the faucet would fit the amount of holes we have now.

If the new sink has a greater depth, the biggest challenge and cost is to modify the drain piping, especially if it has been glued together.

Good handyman could do the job at about half of Mike Scott prices - not a real difficult job for a handyman - check newspaper - Handyman Herb is good.

I agree with above, a drop in sink replacement is an easy job, unless the new sink is really deep, you should be able to keep the garbage disposal, you will probably just need to replace 1 or 2 pieces of plastic drain pipe, any one of several handyman should be able to do this. I would offer, but I am way too busy.

Cut the nonsense. I'm with Aw Man. Hire an actual plumber, not a handyman or someone who is going to "help out". Is someone who is going to "help" insured and willing to cover any damages in the event of a leak? Mike Scott would be the one and only company I would call.

It could be an easy project, but it could also be very difficult. I replaced a sink where the new sink hole didn't line up with the old drain pipe. The plumber had to remove all the piping under the sink, cut a hole in the back of the cabinet, and install a custom drain pipe arrangement. It was an all day project. Some non-plumbers will use a flexible, accordian type drain fitting which is easy to fit into any drain configuration, but it does not comply with the plumbing code.

I would never recommend Mike Scott. Had Roger Pearce Installation, LLC two times. He's a licensed plumber. Does great work and is so fair he even beat his own estimate! His number is 352-572-8954.

i had my faucet changed about 8 mos ago and I used Dave a handyman who did excellent work and very reasonable ... I got his name and number from here.. TOTV... his number is 352-470-7917
