I am not sure what type of franchise business is being discussed, just a friendly reminder that it is against deed restrictions to run a business out of Villages homes, which are single family residential.

Not exactly true. For many (most), the deed restrictions prohibit a business that requires maintaining inventory, equipment, or client visits. For example, you can run a consulting business out of your home as long as clients don't need to visit you.

In my opinion, a franchise needs to offer a name that almost every person in the Country knows and recognizes, like McDonalds. If it doesn't, you are just paying a lot of money for someone to teach you how to run a business.

Good point, businesses are allowed that don’t disrupt the existing neighborhood.

Thanks, I corrected it to Feb 20th.

This workshop is about the concepts of buying a franchise business of any kind. SCORE is not trying to sell a franchise of any kind to anyone; just providing advise about the pros and cons of such a venture.
