Double tap to open a thread?
 

On my iPhone, I’m finding that when I tap on a thread title, the first tap shows the preview of the thread. It takes a second tap to actually open the thread. Is this the way it is supposed to work...... double tap to open the thread on a mobile device?

Something must be out of line in the Settings Department of your phone. I just did exactly what you described on an iPhone 8 Plus, XS Max & I think it is an iPhone 11. All of them opened the thread on the first tap.

Apple Customer Service 800-692-7753. They will fix you up in under 15 minutes for free instead of just poking and hoping which can get you in big trouble. Good Luck!

I have to touch the topic twice on my tablet too.
The preview isn't a plus.

I also have to tap twice on both my iPhone and tablet.

It a problem on my iPad, also. I don’t think the preview is necessary.

Agree. I do not like the preview on my laptop or iPhone. I guess we can’t have everything we prefer but those previews are sooo damn annoying!!!

Glad to see it’s not just me, though. I thought at first it was my mistake. “Operator error” as my husband always tells me. LOL.

Just wondering, Nucky, at what point do you see the preview? Is it with the first tap also?

I’m really loving the new look for TOTV site, especially on my iPhone. The text size is perfect with the new design. The old design, I had to zoom every page and scroll left to right to read it. That is a huge improvement for mobile devices.

TOTV Team improved the colors of the page per our requests. They are doing a great job!

This is probably a good suggestion. We will look into seeing if on mobile we can not have the preview.

The other thing about the preview is that it stays on and blocks the thread adjacent to the one tapped on.

I do not want the preview on my mobile device or my laptop but I have a feeling we are stuck with it. :(

I was just using the new version on my iPhone and the preview pop ups on the thread titles page are GONE. So nice now to scroll the page and not have those damn preview windows pop up on each thread title. Thank you TOTV Team for getting rid of the preview window on the mobile device. Now if you can do that on the regular version, it would be wonderful.

When you say get rid of them on the regular version, do you mean on desktop or do you mean something else?

Yes it is the first tap throughout the entire process. Even to open the thread I select.
