Coronavirus

An outbreak of a deadly and communicable virus in a community as social as The Villages could be extremely dangerous. We prepare for hurricanes. How are we to prepare for coronavirus? Why are we not hearing anything about how to protect ourselves?

Obviously a need to know....what if.
This past week one of the health organizations stated the majority of US citizens are at more risk from the flu than coronavirus.

Here are some views of precaution/prevention:

A good friend and High School classmate of mine is still on board this ship. They have been told that they will not have to pay for their extended cruise and will get several additional cruises for free when and if they ever decide to cruise again.
As the ship has tried to dock in several other countries, our friends tell us when they are able to dock somewhere they will immediately head back to the US.

I hear pets in shopping carts actually filter out the virus ...We should be safe here

I looked at Helene and Henry and said...you know when this mother speaks...…...prepare to be on house arrest.

Fortunately we still have water left over from Irma.

And I could feed the whole third fleet from our pantry for a couple of months.

I know I should NOT make light of this. We should all try to think how we can protect ourselves if it comes here.

Not funny at all...………..

Scary as Hell.

No, I am not "chicken little", but it's something to ponder....

Anyone planning to receive goods via air freight from China might want to digest this report: Persistence of coronaviruses on inanimate surfaces and its inactivation with biocidal agents Endemic human coronaviruses (HCoV) can persist on inanimate surfaces like metal, glass or plastic for up to 9 days.

No one know how the Coronavirus epidemic will affect most of us, but to put it in perspective, as of Feb 14th, 14,000 have died from the 2019-2020 Flu, 250,000 have been hospitalized and 26 million have gotten the flu. Florida appears to be one of the least affected states and the rest of US states have seen a high rate of infections. As per the CDC. If the Coronavirus were to hit during the height of the Flu Epidemic then who knows what might happen.
