Red Smart car - Lake Deaton plaza - Fri Eve

You are a street vehicle, complete with registration and plates. Stay OFF the golf cart path. You may be the same size but you are not allowed. You would have been at fault as you were speeding around the corner if you hit someone out for a jog or on their way home from Publix in their golf cart.

Aren't Smart Cars larger than golf carts? Smart Cars fit in the tunnels?

Are you actually talking about a SMART (brand) car or one of the Atomic Golf Carts that are street legal and sorta resemble a Smart (brand) car and have registration and FL plates and is an LSV which is LEGALLY and SPECIFICALLY permitted on the MMP's by the District Council and is posted as such on the VCDD website. They are sometimes confused to be a Smart (brand) car when it actually is a street legal golf cart AKA LSV which is why I have a sticker on mine. This link is ACTUALLY a Smart (brand) car which is NOT allowed: mini electric cars and micro urban cars | smart USA. I have seen the Smart (brand) cars once on the MMP going thru the LSL tunnel.

Please clarify. These are both examples of LEGAL cars on the paths and golf courses (when they have turf-tires):

I have seen a Smart (brand) vehicle ILLEGALLY on the paths going through a tunnel at LSL without problem. :D They aren't that much larger than a golf cart and some of the YESTERYEAR or STREET ROD carts are actually larger however the 2 pictured above are permitted.

Smart car will fit in a golf cart garage with no problem. Our cart is a few inches longer, and about the same height

I was on the road in my cat and this thing was passing me. Not quite golf cart speed

Is your cat street legal? :)

Any vehicle with an active/registered license plate "IS NOT" permitted on golf cart paths......

Really? Because I have seen golf carts that have a Fl. plate and are street legal. These are not permitted on golf cart paths?

Smart cars (if it really is a smart car) are not allowed because of their engine size if gas (must 49cc or less), or the speed of their motor if electric (high speed motors not allowed). Being street legal with registration and plates has nothing to do with it. LSVs are street legal with registration and plates and are allowed on these paths.

That IS NOT true. LSVs are allowed.

LSVs are allowed up to 25mph on the streets, but on the paths are supposed to obey the 20mph speed limit. But a LOT of regular golf carts have been illegally modified to go even faster than 25mph, so get used to being passed.:icon_wink:

Wow, glad you posted this! Thanks.

If you go through all the expense of getting Fl. Plates and the mandatory insurance why do you need to use the Multi Media paths. You are going too fast to make it safe for walkers and golf carts. You cannot stop or maneuver as fast when you are going 30 mph. The golf cart paths are not straight so you need to slow down around the many curves but instead you probably end up in the middle not knowing whats around the bend and God forbid there is a golf cart coming at you or a biker ir pedestrian. So here you are you can't move over because there is a golf cart next to you on their side if the road and I will let you guess what happens next.

A few weeks ago, I met a full sized motorcycle (like a Harley) on a path near Hacienda.
