High Speed Gear installation

I have a 2015 re-manufactured Yamaha golf cart. With the governor tied back I can get 20-21 mph on a flat road according to my cell phone speedometer.
What speed can I expect to get if I have high speed gears installed in the rear axle.?

Cost / mechanic to install either new or used gears?

Enough to get a ticket an an unlicensed Low Speed Vehicle along with several fines, have your insurance coverage denied, and lots of other problems.

OK, calm down. Many (most) Yamaha carts have the high speed differential gear installed, either via retrofit by the dealers or the late model carts have it installed by the factory. Most carts can exceed 20 mph. Just use common sense and there won't be issues. The real purpose of the high speed gear is to keep the engine rpms down when driving at 20 mph (because the original differential gear translates to pretty high rpms at 20 mph).

With the governor tied tightly , 205 65 10 tires and high speed gears my 2015 Yamaha would do 29 mph top speed. It cruised comfortably at 20 to 22.
