Interesting theory, or China spreading fake news?

Chinese media links coronavirus to US military lab

The state-run Global Times has reported about a petition on the White House website urging the US government to release more information on the suspension of an infectious disease research lab under the Pentagon.

The Global Times

noted that Chinese internet users and experts are calling for more information on whether The Fort Detrick laboratory was linked to the novel coronavirus, citing coincidental events between the lab’s closure and the outbreak of Covid-19.

It noted many English-language news reports about the closure of Fort Detrick were deleted recently, raising “suspicions over the lab's ‘relationship’ with the novel coronavirus”.

This is the latest in a series of remarks by Chinese diplomats and the state media fuelling a theory that the virus did not originate in China, but was only found there.

Last week, the official Xinhua news agency claimed that the epidemic was first reported in China but “that does not mean it necessarily originated in China”.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian has even tweeted
that “it might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan”.

Wonder why the outbreak started near a Chinese "biomedical research lab"???

Probably trying to deflect the news about their own research. The area where this disease first outbreak occurred in China has two biological research centers where the guards sell the dead animals used for testing out the back gate. Much more likely than the US Army bringing it to China.

Terrorism in the worse way. Keep yourself protected.

The Chinese people are good people. The leaders of China are not and they will NEVER admit anything!

As I understand it the purpose of the two labs is to develop biological weapons. Virus-hit Wuhan has two laboratories linked to Chinese bio-warfare program - Washington Times

I also read they did not release any news about the virus and kept the public unaware for a couple of months. That is what totalitarian governments do. They control everything and everyone.

Wonder if a Pandemic Response Team would have helped with part of their job description to address such stories and threats ???

Not only as stated above, but the Chinese also made known they are working with Iran on these types of bio weapons via the unknown transmission of this virus into Iran. BOTH countries tried to keep a lid on the announcement publicly, resulting in what we are seeing now...huge casualty counts (and I am certain they are being "underreported" even with what we are learning. Satellite images show HUGE mass graves being dug in Iran with piles of lye to spread on the bodies nearby.

The first doctor, an ophthalmologist, we know died of the virus. But he and seven other doctors who tried to get the word out were imprisoned. Their government controls all of the media and spreads propaganda all to their benefit. Those food markets are really "wildlife" markets where you can even buy live Koala Bears. Utterly disgusting!!!

It's a good thing there hasn't been a run on tin foil.

I read that animals used in the lab (and contaminated) were illegally sold in the Wuhan meat markets, and of course consumed.
