Are allergies unbearable?

My allergies are killing me!!! I have a very low-grade sore throat... and that's because I have so much mucus in my sinuses it's draining down my throat. I've had that for weeks. My sinuses are throbbing! I feel like I have a terrible cold... yet I have no symptoms of a cold (I'm not coughing or sneezing). I'm sure it's allergies.
With coronavirus, it's easy to question what the issue is...
Is it only me? Is anyone else suffering from allergy issues?

I've spent the last 2 days sneezing and blowing my nose, which just flows like a faucet.

Are allergies unbearable? I guess it depends on what you are allergic to.

The pollen is quite heavy and yes I am bothered by it.

I have horrid allergies, and STRONGLY recommend the new Zyzal allergy med. Once a day, VERY effective where the others I have been taking only do minimal. Take it 3 days in a row before total relief from allergies. I have found needing allergy meds often, this is much more effective personally.

Unfortunately, I also have severe and continual allergies. My family doctor told me to purchase Cetirizine 10mg and take one every night. It works for me. I get mine in Sams and it is very inexpensive, WalMart probably has it too.

Cetirizine, sold under the brand name Zyrtec among others, is a second- generation antihistamine used to treat allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

My allergist told me Nasacort in the morning and Zyzal at night but you may be at the point where you now have a sinus infection and need an antibiotic and zpack.

The most important point is to monitor your temperature. As long as your temperature is normal, or goes to 100 or so and lasts no more than 24-48 hours, you have one of the many viruses going around or allergies. . .

human foibles. . . I hate them but then the microbes are at the top of the food chain

The pollen count has been at 11 for most of the past 45 days. I pay attention to that count since I am allergic to many types of pollen. I also get allergy shots, which I recommend. As they have helped me significantly. I take Claritin in the morning and singulair in the evening. It may be helpful if you use a nasal rinse.

You have my sympathy.

Some years in the spring I'm hardly affected but this is one of those years when it's awful. For the first time, I'm taking Claritin (generic) every evening.

Our car that is parked outside is covered in pollen every day. We hose it off each morning....when we used to go out...

Ditto here. I do the same, Cetirizine 10mg @ Sam's, now for a couple months. Unfortunately this morning, sniff sniff sneeze sneeze yada. Oh well, at least no sore throat or fever....

I've been doing Xyzal daily for almost a year, having switched from Zyrtec as a result of a free sample.

Xyzal can make you drowsy, but it's a 24-hour active med so it's fine to take at night before bedtime, and will be effective all the next day.

You can also take just half a dose, which is what I do.

You can also combine it with Flonase, which has no such side effects.

It is also safe to combine with Ambien, and Xanax, if you need either of those. With the Ambien though, only take a half or you might oversleep.

Montelukast 10 MG. Change my sniffling life for the better. Need a prescription.
