Sewer backup insurance? Do villages homes built in 2006 have backflow valves?

Wondering if it's worth it to get sewer backup insurance. My home is actually about 120' elevation so I'm not in a low lying area.

Anyone know if homes built in 2006 had back-flow valves in the sewer line that would minimize this concern?

Call your county building inspector's office.

With all the toilet paper about to flow through the pipes, it may be a very good idea to take insurance out!

In my opinion, you need sewer backup insurance. It will pay for damage to your house if your sewer line backs up into your house. This can happen regardless of the elevation or if there is a flood. Also, regular flood insurance will not cover sewer backups that are not related to a flood. I don't know of any backflow devices that will prevent this from happening.
