Census 2020
If I recall correctly, there was an announcement that we would be getting the census 2020 postcard with the unique number to fill out the census online, I have not seen the post card yet, has anyone else? I did see where you can go online without the unique number, you just have to provide additional info, but I was curious if there was a delay in mailing these out.

I got a letter in the mail a few days ago. There was a form and a code number. You can either fill out the mail-in form or go online and enter the code. I went online and completed the online form in about 5 minutes.

Start here: Census 2020 Under the boxes where you can type in your Census ID, there's a hyperlink for you to click if you do not have Census ID. It reads, "If you do not have a Census ID, click here." Click that. Then follow the instructions after that. (I couldn't go further since I'd already taken it). |
Census letter came yesterday, went online and the form was much less invasive than I thought it was going to be, took a few minutes. On a side note a relative got two (2) census letters, either the same day or adjacent days. When we opened these both had the SAME ID number, I was sure one was going to be a scam. One was the exact same form as ours, letter size folded in half, the other was normal letter size folded in thirds.

I am not sure, but door to door census workers may be using a longer, more comprehensive form for a certain percentage of the population. I say this because years ago, my mother was a census worker who did the door to door in an assigned neighborhood. The form was several pages long, double-sided. At the same time, there was a short-form. Probably a statistical thing.
The census bureau is probably conducting it in the same way today, because, you know, it’s the government and they don’t change things too often. |

Just filled ours out.

Filled ours out. You do need to remember birthdays and ethnic backgrounds.
Of course, I remembered 2-24 for mine and also got my parents' right as well. I did double-check them after fact though. Put me down as German and Irish-English-Scotch. Dad's side came from Germany around 1870 and Mom's side from Ireland-Scotland-England around 1670 and settled in North Carolina or Massachusetts. |

Our Stimson and Trueblood family trees go back to the mid-1600s in the US. These are on my Mom's side. My father's side has a very German name.
