Bring a shopping cart, the full sized one, even if you are only buying a couple of things.
Use it as a physical barrier between you and other people. If you need to stop to select an item, put the shopping cart BEHIND you, with less than a foot between you and the cart. You don't want it so far behind you that people can get between it and yourself. This will provide you with a 3-foot barrier between you and people walking by.
For folks who are super concerned about the condition of the carts themselves: there are probably wipes inside the store just past the entry doors. Please honor the "take one per cart" request, otherwise you might show up to find none left because the guy before you chose not to honor it. Don't be that guy.
If you worry that there aren't going to be any left when you get there, spray some scrubbing bubbles or other surface cleaner on a paper towel, and put the wet towel in a zip-lock bag, and bring the bag with you. You can wipe down the cart with your own product that way.
Just remember to bag the produce before you put it in the cart.
