Dogs at Sharon Wichens Preserve

It was bound to happen. Dog Park closed now people are walking their dogs in the Sharon Wichens Preserve. Dogs are are not permitted past the entrance to Sharon Wichens and that is clearly posted at the entrance gate. That’s right folks, someone had two dogs walking them in the Preserve. Can’t get over the people who think no rules apply to them. Afraid that will become the new dog park gathering. :rolleyes

How would that help? They have no police powers so about all they can do is ask that they leave the area. If the individual(s) ignore the sign they will ignore the community watch also.

I have been at Wiechens Preserve when guys were fishing off the walkway. I personally have seen Sheriff come and remove them from fishing.

Really? With all that’s going on let it rest.

Saw a woman walking her dog yesterday on the Amelia golf course.....

Why. Is it holy ground?

Not really, CW can call it in.

Rules now need flexibility. I am sure the Preserve, our lawns, and common areas will be just fine. Relax!

Anybody can do that, the OP could have done it. You don't have to be a police officer to call the sheriff. Still doesn't change the fact that CW has no police powers.

Or maybe they're part of the influx of people from NY/NJ that are refusing to self-quarantine and feel none of the rules apply to them?

Whoa there, can you imagine some of those old people with guns strapped on?

Mleeja 03-25-2020 07:14 PM

If the dogs are on a leash, not on the board walk, or the tower, and of course the dog owners pickup after their dog, I am not sure what the big deal is. Could it be that gators could come out of the marsh and grab a dog?

What makes you think a lot of people around here already have concealed carry?
