This has to be a first

Went to City Fire @ LSL to check on the take out menu. Lo and behold, the are selling toilet paper ($2 a roll, limit 2), bread, rubber gloves, all kinds of bottles of booze (is that legal?), and assorted other stuff. I wonder if that is price gouging and if they are paying taxes on all that stuff. Just sayin.:ho:

No it’s not a problem, it’s called capitalism and open market.

Double Eagle 03-26-2020 03:21 AM

There are people with booze, TP, bread and gloves who don't care what you think.

And PS: Since the government has nothing to do right now, I'm sure they are assembling a task force to determine what is going on at that one place.

Maybe this is contributing to why the shelves are empty in the stores.

Bay Kid 03-26-2020 04:46 AM

Got to do whatever you can to pay the bills. I hope that top shelf TP.

Why do you care?

Like a lot of others, they are trying to find a way to survive, until normal service is resumed.

Maybe just maybe since they're not open for full business they're selling out they're surplus items to make some money to help pay their employees. Since it's been posted though I'm sure IF someone has a bad bone to pick with them they'll be reported now.

If they're not doing anything wrong, they have nothing to worry about, right? $2 for a single roll of toilet paper? About twice the usual price.

vintageogauge 03-26-2020 06:56 AM

I would guess that they have to sell a lot of takeout and toilet paper to pay their rent and utilities. You do what you have to do to stay in business and it doesn't sound like they're hurting anyone.

More importantly, why DON'T you?

Good for them. We have been taking out from different restaurants every night and will continue to do so. My family back North was in the restaurant business for thirty years and the ups and downs were just too much. My daughter, lucky, got out of the business several months ago and got a County job with great benefits. Just remember how much City Fire, Gators, Red Source, Cody etc pay a month for their leases, so if they make a $1.00 on a roll of TP, good for them. Support them!

EdFNJ 03-26-2020 07:32 AM

FMK group (Blue Fin and the rest) are offering a free roll of TP with every delivery. :D :D

swooner 03-26-2020 07:36 AM

Never mind the price gouging. How many rolls of Toilet paper have they hoarded to be able to do this. A good answer to this is to **** on them by boycotting them both now and in the future.

swooner 03-26-2020 07:38 AM

They also must have hoarded the stuff!
