Hole-in-one

Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one? I'm just a beginner so the answer goes without saying for me. I have gotten many, okay, a few, pars and even fewer birdies.

My husband was playing with a co-worker and the co-worker's brother at True Blue in South Carolina. Both the co-worker and his brother each got a hole-in-one on that course during that one round. It was a first for each. My husband talks about it to this day. Astounding. Unbelievable. But true.

You talking about socks? I've had holes in many.

Yes. A very long time ago. But even a blind sow runs into an acorn very occasionally.

Sweetie has had THREE!

OMGoodness, Gracie. I am impressed!!! Wow. I can't wait to tell my husband...hee hee. He was proud as punch when he broke 80!

Breaking 80 is always impressive. There are a lot of golfers and I was very surprised to read how few do even break 100.

I broke 100 bowling one time. :clap2:

I've played WITh many people who have had a hole in one during our round. My normal foursome buddy had his first hole in one two years ago on a reachable (obviously) par 4. It was something you don't forget when you see a hole in one with a driver.

graciegirl 07-22-2010 09:40 AM

One of the holes in one that Sweetie made was a blind dog leg par four. Wow.

Mine was a reachable par three, the last hole at our club and the bar was filled with friends on a Friday night. They saw it and I was glad to pay.

Hole in One can be expensive

I have had two in my life. I have not had one for many years (10+). With my luck, the last one I had was during a 3 day member guest at my home club.

It was during the Friday round which was the only round where there were no pay out for skins or closest to the pins.

By the time I got to the club house you would have thought the news was on CNN. That joyous hole-in-one cost me $175!

I have had two hole in ones. One about 10 years ago and one two years ago. One of the foursome called the club house and told them so I also had a big bar bill by the time we finished 18. We were on hole seven. Also have had two eagles, one on a par four from 175 yards out and one a par five from 90 yards out.

I am going to look into starting a hole-in-one insurance company.

Wow, a double eagle (Albatrosse) even more impressive than a hole-in-one....The ole boy has had two double eagles, I've had 3 hole-in-ones but not near as impressive as a Albatrosse!....You would think sleeping with him, it would rub off!....Oh well!

The 'ole boy' has two double eagles and has played Augusta (another thread).

I am not sure which is a harder feat :)

In all my years, I have never had a double eagle or even come close that am aware of. Having two is something.

I must say, as I age and hit the ball shorter and shorter my odds are not exaclty increasing! Now, where can I find some 420 yard par 5's :icon_hungry:?

My husband got one 5 years ago. He tried to call me but I was away and could not receive calls. So. he called his MOM. LOL
