Finely, nice shower at the moment. See how long it lasts.

Rain - glorious rain !!!!

Wonderful rain! I’m up to watering the grass 3 times a week now, with reluctance. This zoysia type grass doesn’t seem to recover from drought.

Chatbrat 04-16-2020 05:51 AM

Doing the same 3x a week, by the way does anyone know a person who does plugging or reseeding of Zoysia, got a couple of stressed spots that are in need of help

Rain grows corn.

davem4616 04-16-2020 06:23 AM

and an unexpected consequence to the rain is that "The Daily Sun" that is thrown on my driveway swells up when it gets wet and becomes almost half the size that it used to be

 I thought twice a week was the "RULE"

Bjeanj 04-16-2020 12:31 PM

Our rain gauge shows we received 1.2”, thank goodness!

Velvet 04-16-2020 12:33 PM

But another rule is to keep your lawn nice... so tell the watering rule to the grass. I’m ok with paying less for irrigation.

I can rain 6" here next day means nothing
My lawn co recommended this approach to watering so far it makes sense it has worked for me going on 2 years
I take total amount of time I water over a 3 times a week period
Example Zone 1 20 min x 3 days = 60 min divide by 7 = 8.5 +or -
Then set that zone round it up to 10 and water 7 days a week
Its the same amount of usage slightly increased
I Do that for each zone

Reason being is now my lawn gets watered every day
The soil here you can water for an hour and once sprinkler shuts off by end of the day Fla sun the surface area where the roots are is dried out and now you have to wait 2 days till next cycle

Now your root system has surface moisture every day

As always depending on time of year adjust accordingly

Your zosia will return slowly it has a mind of it's own
