Palm Trees - Expert needed

Looking for a professional who can diagnose any palm problems - has the experience/knowledge to resolve palm problems along with appropriately trimming a palm.

I don’t know what type of palms we have - just moved in and am busy with a bunch of other stuff so haven’t researched but want to address the palms now as they look a little rough.

TIA to the good folks on TOTV..!!

Call Tree Frog landscaping service, I will post phone number if i can find it. The other option, take photos for the trees and problems and send to master gardener. I have dealt with both and had very good service from both.

I had a Sylvester Palm that had some unusual growth, so I stopped at KB Nursery on 462 in Wildwood. They gave the website for the University of Florida Sumter Agricultural Community Extension, attn: Jim Davis.

I emailed him a couple of photos of the tree, and within two days he sent me back a full response.

UF/IFAS Extension Contact Jim Davis

Here's is one of about 3 photos I sent him last August, I was going to have the 7 year old tree removed.

Here's the tree 8 months later, had about 10' of old growth removed from the top, irrigation was adjusted, palm fertilized and rocks replaced and some new shrubs added, all done by Terrascape of Wildwood.

We trimmed all of ours one foot below the ground. You might note after any storm, villages palms shed everywhere, plus the bugs love them.

Go to treesaregood.com and then click on 'Find an Arborist' and there will be a list, albeit, a short one but you should feel confident that those on the list are the best. Tree Frog will be on that list. Anyone can slap a magnetic sign on a truck declaring themselves a tree service.

Trimmed one foot below the ground?? Don't get it.

One another note, I have seen many trees with mulch built up way too high on the trunk. Mulch or stone should not go above root line. Area where root ball transitions to the bark on the trunk. trapping moisture around trunk brings disease and bugs. Not good!

Tree Frog is an amazing professional and knowledgeable company. Nobody better.

Bingo!

The first photo reflects a neglected palm (located in backyard so appears previous owner never bothered with it) - second photo shows palm in front yard and it appears to be in better condition.
