My friend told me about a young man who had detailed her 2002 Honda Accord and what a great job he had done. Her car did look brand new so I called and had my auto detailed last week. He did a fabulous job. Car looks brand new inside and out. $ 125.00 (He spent 4 hours on my car)

seems high.. Just watch what they use on your vehicle.. I detail on the side, and for the most part the materials dont cost alot. and alot of times you will get cheap wax and stuff put on it.

What wax and stuff do you recommend?

He buys his supples from Florida Auto Dealers Supply in Ocala. Only using professional supplies. Complete detail includes wash, wax, buffing, tires, wheels and inside of auto including cleaning of carpet. I had some surface scratches on my car and they are now gone. He spent 4 hours on my car. Totally worth the $125.00. May seen high to some, but totally worth it to me for a professional job.

I use only Pinnacle Products. I got hooked on it about 5 years ago. Now FADS in ocala has some good products also, I buy my auto shampoo from them, Gallon bottle was like 10-15.00. But I get my wax and spray finishers from a website called autogeek. I have included the link. There is a big difference in car washes and waxes. Trust me a BIG difference. The main thing that needs to be done after washing a vehicle is to clean the paint prior to waxing, washing does not do this. a good paint cleaning lotion. Then a really good coat of Pinnacle Souveran Wax. Makes a big difference. Had a couple at the Publix Parking lot ask me what I put on the car beacuse it looks like it is wet?? It is just the wax and how the paint is cleaned. The wax cost 95.00,, the paint cleaning lotion was 24.99. Now mind you these products last a very long time. One can of the wax has lasted me 3 years . It goes on like butter on bread. It only takes alittle to do the whole car. I wax our car like every 3 months. Clean the paint evey 6 months. I never go thru the drive car washes like at the gas stations. Never wash and wax the car in the sun or where alot of dust is blowing around. Here is a link to the auto geek.

Also never have used a machine to clean the vehicle, unless it was really old and oxidized. Then a hand held polisher might be called for..

GMONEY: I've taken pride in most all the cars I've owned. Keeping them clean has always been one of my hobbies. I've never tried the Pinnacle products but I'll have to give them a try. Thanks for the link.

Okay, GMoney. I made the mistake of checking out your web site and I hadn't had breakfast yet - - two hours later...... You see I just moved to the villages and had yet to replace all of the auto care items I didn't ship. I had always used Griot's and Zaino Bros products, but the autogeek site was super, I'll probably spend a few more hours (and much $) on it. Your post continues the legacy of TOTV being the source of the best referrals you can find. Thanks a bunch ! :BigApplause:

Glad it works for you cats.. I get all my stuff from there. Like I said The Pinnacle Souveran Wax is expensive at 95.00 for the jar, but will last a long time, they have alot of great products there. They are in South Florida, usually get you order within 2 days I believe UPS. I have always been very happy with their service. If you spend good money a vehicle (investment) might as well take care of it with good products..

Yes I still do it on the side when I get a break from work.
Just did a New Honda Accord. Did a strip wash to break away all wax and residue, Clay, then rewash,, used a paint cleaning lotion, then applied wax..
Cleaned the Tires and wheels applied protectant.
General inside cleaning, Vaccum and wipe down,, That was 70.00 Newer vehicle. If it was SUV would add 20.00 to price.
Basic wash,, no wax,, wipe down inside,, Shop Vac inside,, looking 40.00.

If I wax a vehicle, I like to strip wash and clay if needed to get paint smooth. Anyone can throw some dish soap in a bucket of water and wash then wax their car. That is not what I do. I used to use Pinnacle, but I now use Adam's products.

The products are top of the line. I take my time. usually about 3-4 hours to finish, depending on size of car. I just did my personal SUV. took 2 days, but I also used the Porter Cable to remove most of the swirl marks and applied a sealant, then waxed 24 hours later.
I have done other vehicles with the polisher, time consuming to say the least. 2 -3 day job depending on paint condition. Did a 2008 Toyota Camry, full polish, engine detail, leather treatment 200.00.

I do it at my house when I get a break from work. The Villages is building so Not to many breaks. Any questions yell and I will help you out.
