Report of P.F. Chang's Expansion Not True

From today's Daily Sun:
P.F. Chang's China Bistro is not coming to The Villages, contrary to information published on an internet blog. The provider of Chinese and Asian cuisines explored the possibility of developing a store at Brownwood more than a year ago, acknowledged Scott Renick, The Villages director of commercial development, but the restaurant chain withdrew its consideration after a private equity firm purchased the company in March 2019, he said "They never signed a lease."

I "heard" from a real-estate friend who is generally well-connected (but still is only one "source") that P.F. Chang's did not like the parking situation.

so then what were the documents that were filed? "The Asian-themed restaurant chain has filed an application for a location at 3676 Meggison Road at Brownwood Paddock Square, according to a document on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The filing offers little information other than, “Application in Progress.”

That is fine prefer restaurants owned by locals than big chains.

Never understood why Olive Garden is thought to be good Italian cooking.

I worked for the state of Tennessee maintaining a data base. There were people tasked with providing new or changed information for me to enter. If it wasn't provided to me it didn't get into the data base. That is possibly why that info on P.F. Chang is still there.

I looked up those documents and noticed that they are not dated. Now I am guessing that they were filed before the new investor took over. Then they were just left to expire.

Believe it or not a community such as the villages is not necessarily considered a great place for a very high investment business. Especially when you consider and half the residents leave for half the year.

By the way any restaurant whether it's a chain or local that can last and 20 or 30 years is it better restaurant in the multitude of those the fail within 1 to 2 years. I speak of Olive Garden and many chain restaurants. The reason I will go to Olive Garden Ira many locals his consistency. While it may not be the best , for the prices it's darn good. There are several good Italian places here I will also go to some of them

All restaurants in Florida tourist areas lose half there business in the off season. Not just The Villages.

FACTS: You can't live with 'em and you can't live without 'em. But they sure can make people talk.

I'm confused about your verbiage. I don't understand what you are telling me in your post.

Sometimes a chain will be very good and sometimes not.

Generally like a very nice and upscale place for burgers. Last time started eating my burger and noticed one side of the burger was not cooked.
Called over waiter who took it back and came back to me with explanation that half of it was cooked off the grill.
My only answer was to ask if the cook understood the process of cooking?

A bit off topic but thought I would throw it out there.
