Villages Water Supply?

So I distill my own water for use in my CPAP machine. Today when I looked at the residue it was a dark brown. It's normally has a brown tinge to it but never a dark brown. I use cold tap water and let the faucet run for a while before I fill up the distiller. Just curious does anyone know the history of the water system here in the Villages? They've been doing some work on the golf course in our neighborhood I wonder if maybe something got in the line?

Lets than $1/gallon to purchase. Less than one gallon per month. ~$10/year to purchase.

So I'm a cheap skate! My wife and I both have CPAP machines so it's more than a gallon per month, plus we use the distilled water for other purposes, such as crystal clear ice cubes, and to wash the car so not to get water spots. We also make our own alkaline water, which if bought in the store is about $4 a gallon.

FYI, the Walmart Great Value brand is $0.78 per gallon.

Really? You're willing to have brown water in your CPAP so you can used your distilled water to wash your car, and save $0.78 in the process? Please don't do that any more, a car with no spots isn't worth a pseudomonas pneumonitis or worse.

According to the label on the bottle, it is made and bottled in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Well, if I found that I wouldn’t be using that water.

Another Villager just told me that all the water in the Villages is reclaimed, I've not verified, does anyone know? That might explain the variations I'm seeing. Maybe water treatment plant not working correctly?

No, just the water used for irrigation south of 466 is "reclaimed"

Do you have a whole house filter or a filter on the faucet you use to get the water you distill? The filter may need changing. Also if your filtration system uses some type media that was recently changed, that might affect the water color

I'm not sure yet, we're renting been here about a month in the Polo Ridge area. We were RVing around the country until the Virus, decided to hunker down thru December to see what happens. I'll have examine the water system in the house.

Perhaps you can ask the homeowner. And he may have experienced something similar in the past as well.
