US Unemployment Map - Jan. 2007 to July 15, 2010

Take a look at this map. It shows the rapid changes of unemployment. When you get to the map, click the arrow in the middle.
Incredible what "The Great Recession" has done. Watch the changes in the map from Jan. 2007 to July15, 2010.
Pay particular attention to the month, year and percentage unemployment at the top and when the advancing of the dark areas begin.

Viewing it only takes a few seconds. The darker the color, the higher the unemployment.

The old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" is never more true than looking at this map.

Appalling

but how come it isn't making the headlines everyday? 30-40 million Americans are suffering and the media pretends everything is OK. Lets divert the the great unwashed attentions to Mel Gibson or have this supposed Commander in Chief make guest appearances on The View television show and throw him softball questions.

As has been stated in several reports in recent days

the administration, led by Obama, plays the race card for that very reason. It keeps the attention away from things that really do matter and really do maake a difference. Usually not ever amplified by the media.

Or focus on Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Who really cares?

Can you imagine

the media take on the money being spent on this wedding if it was Bush's daughter getting married instead of Clinton's? The word "outrage" would come to mind. They would go on and on about the opulent spending while the masses suffer.

Great link. I immediately shared it on my other networking sites. Thanks for the post. I'm of a mind that too many people are only going to get outraged and motivated when it'll be far too late to turn around the planned destruction of our free society. I hope I'm wrong.

Not one of our resident lefties commented on this link with it startling visual aid showing that despite his efforts to supposedly repair our economy, and in effect triple our deficit and mortgage our great-grandchildren's future, our esteemed leader has succeeded in doubling the unemployment rate since he assumed office.

A picture, or video, is worth a thousand words. In this case, though, the silence is deafening and completely understandable.

Can you imagine how the media would be reacting if Bush doubled the unemployment rate and then went on the View to get his dismal numbers up? Or have his First Lady act like some kind of Anointed Queen with a 6 million staff at her beck and call?

Oh well, must be Bush's fault.

Democrats never met an economic downturn they couldn't drag on for a decade or so.

OH SO TRUE. What if Bush dies? Will unemployment go away? After all, without somone to blame there is no need for it.

As long as the gov't keeps extending unemployment benefits, why are people going to go back to work or start a new company if they can make more or almost as much sitting home and collecting unemployment ? People who got laid off making X amount of dollars a year are hoping those types of jobs will be returning so they will just keep collecting unemployment as long as they can, waiting for a job to return that pays what they earned before. In the meantime, because of gov't regulations here in the US, high taxes for corporations, not knowing what will happen in the future with this administration, cost of Obamacare etc etc corporations are either holding onto the cash they have or moving these jobs overseas. I am afraid many of these jobs the people on unemployment are waiting for are not coming back. Sooner or later they will need to start over at much less pay than they were accustomed, maybe even less than they are getting on unemployment. Very scary economic scenario that is being perpetrated by this administration.

Where do you get this 'almost as much' amount?

In New Hampshire, I got FAR less than half my previous income for the few weeks I was on unemployment. It was more like 25%..

:agree: I have been divorced twice and homeless twice and started on the bottom a few times and worked my way back up. During the Carter years many people took whatever job was offered to pay the bills. People today will not even leave their home to look. The send out a bunch of resumes and sit at home and complain.
