How many 'Villagers' are as tired of this as I am?>
I've had it.
We have now lived over 3 months with the threat of severe illness and death from COVID-19. So far so good here in The Villages. Seems as if the worst is over for now. Still 'masking' and 'Soc-Dist-ing'. Glad to see our stores and restaurants opening to a degree. Life, as we knew it, is slowly returning and hopefully we will not have a serious rebound of COVID soon. Now, we are living through the terrible racial division for over a week - with little chance of ending soon. All over a HORRIBLE incident by a few rotten apples in MN. As you know that sparked the protesting and horrific riots and looting and shooting all over the USA, and now other parts of the world. This has earmarks of escalating even more, with more loss of life. I will stop my commentary right there, attempting to simply report facts. And, NOW! Hurricane season has just started and we will soon have the 3rd named storm. C'mon!!! What's next? Murder Hornets? Asteroids hitting Lake Deaton? Dog poop raining down on us? Please, can we simply skip past 2020 and go directly to 2021? I've had it.:sing::shrug::cus::mornincoffee::pray: |
let's hope that everything doesn't just go entirely off the rails

Easy cure.
Just stop watching any news telecasts by ANY network. Instant attitude improvement. |
I think we are all so near the end of the rope on staying in.
However, people are still catching Covid-19 and dying from it. Last week we heard the sad news from a family we have long known in Cincinnati that their 81 year old father died in the hospital after trying all of the "new things" to save him. This morning our friends posted that their mother had died of this virus early this morning. I wish we had a clear summary of how many are infected here and when was the last death. I do read that it being warmer is a factor in keeping it from "being". I never felt that any government entity was doing a bad job with public statistics but now I am wondering. I do NOT want to become a conspiracy theorist. I have always kind of thought of myself of a woman very interested in science that taught little children. ( I enjoyed every minute of it. Well almost every minute of it) |

Apply just a LITTLE logic to your consideration of what you heard: IF being warmer is a factor in keeping it from "being" THEN Miami would not have been hard-hit at all. AND THEN Florida would not have been in the top 5 of all states infected with 56,830 total cases diagnosed. AND THEN Florida would not have seen 2,460 total deaths confirmed as caused by the virus. That's just a little logic for ya. Meanwhile, there HAVE been more deaths recently - not merely in Florida. Marion County was holding steady at only 5 deaths. Until last week. They're up to 7 now. Two additional deaths in a single week, for a county that had 5 deaths total for over two months. |

As the wise young lady said, "Patience, Grasshopper". |
You may have had it but Covid hasn’t. Did you get any younger? There is still no effective treatment, still no vaccine available... so the danger is the same as before. The weather might help by the smallest percentage but that’s it.

Amazing the impact of a good riot and fire bombings has on what the media feels important to bombard you with!!
The coverage of the virus 24/7 for weeks/months is conspicuous by its all but total absence. |
Hmmmm, just got done with three sets of tennis, watched the sunset last night at Ednas while drinking a nice cold one, have golf scheduled for Wednesday and Saturday, more tennis on Thursday, a little concert planned for neighborhood on Saturday evening.....Sorry your life is in such turmoil......Had stage 4 throat cancer 7 years ago, meet many people in the chemo wards and radiation that are no longer with us......You might want to step back and see what the real problem is.....

I went to Sam's Club yesterday, I wanted some new prescription sunglasses. I'm hitting my drives so far I can't see the ball anymore:)
That optical department was closed, so we looked around. It was biggest crowd I have seen in that store. Forget January the height of snowbird season. Every register was open and long lines and two lines all the way back to just get out the door. Every cart was filled to the top. I think after seeing the riots, most people feel the virus thing is over and just want to get out and do something. I just spent three hours trimming my hedges and bushes in the back yard, raking the trimmings and peanut shells since we feed the squirrels, filling two big brown bags. Then I just washed my car out front. That was after I lifted weights this morning. Keep the body working and the brain will follow. |
