2013 Yamaha Gas Red Led on Dashboard
Does anyone know why this light may flash besides low on oil? Recently it would stay on solid, then flash and then go off. I ended up replacing the battery and now all is well again. I suspect Yamaha uses this led to commutate errors codes of some sort via a series of long and/or short flashes. It would be very helpful to know if these error codes exist and what the various flash sequences / error codes mean.

You are correct- Im sure your favorite repair place would have this info, or a google search may come up with it.

Sounds like a loose or corroded connection or bad sensor.
Pretty sure it's only a low oil indicator. Post back if when you find out it's purpose. |

Mine is EFI. So maybe it does flash when low on fuel? |

There should be X number of long flashes (1 sec long) followed by X number of short flashes (0.5 sec long) followed by a 3 second pause, then either a repeat of the first pattern of flashing or a different one if there are more than 1 fault. Let me know you flash pattern and I can tell you the fault. |
