Black lives Matter Street Painting

While no problem with the Idea that Black Lives Matter, I cannot agree with the public painting on streets such as in Washington DC authorized by the Mayor. Although I agree with the statement, I also believe that All Lives Matter. If some mayor decided to do the same elsewhere with White Lives, Red lives, Yellow lives it would be illegal. Why is this display by the DC mayor allowed. It simply promotes racial divide.

In one phrase:

L_______ism is a diease

All the mayors and governers trying to out do each other

I disagree.

I do not believe it should have been painted on the streets. DC spends enough money on useless things already.

I bet it made some people feel better about their race and so money well spent.

Yes all lives matter , the problem with using that term it takes a way from the specific message that black lives matter. Lots of people who use this term are doing it in a derogatory manner . Black lives matters is about the injustices and inequality that black people feel . Sometimes it’s not what you say it’s about how you say it

BLM is just another form of segregation!!

Also presents as a general condition (black lives do not matter) that just is not true. Most people do not think that way.

What is this movement trying to change?

In saying that there is inequality and injustices perpetrated on black people, exactly how is that manifested? We have no laws or practices that are unjust or promote a differing quality for black people, in fact maybe quite the opposite. So where is the injustice and inequality coming from? I would have to say that it seems to me it comes from people who are not black feeling some level of hostility towards black people. I don't see how all of what's going on today is ever going to remove or even lessen that feeling of hostility.

This reminds me of the crosswalks painted in rainbow colors to promote LGBTQ causes in Northampton, Massachusetts. Where will it end?

Not that I believe those who need to the most will read it...but here it is anyway.

Good Housekeeping - BLM

Quote:

What Black Lives Matter Means (and Why It's Problematic to Say "All Lives Matter")

Saying that black lives matter doesn't mean that other lives do not.

While the intention of the phrase "All Lives Matter" may be to put everyone’s life on equal footing and convey a sense of unity, responding "All Lives Matter" to "Black Lives Matter" is actually more divisive than unifying.

That's because it discounts and diminishes the focus on the violence and discrimination Black individuals face every day in this country.

Any decent American, should be able to put aside the less than one minute...it will take to watch this.

How about this The Mayor of Orlando decides to paint " All Lives Matter " simply because he feels it's the right thing to do. After all when ya think about it , makes perfect sense. It includes everyone.

Not that anyone with common sense, or half a brain needs to be reminded.

It is simply a reminder that yes " All Lives Matter ".

But then hey, all a protester needs is an excuse to go out and cause mayhem, and let the looting, burning, injuring law enforcement, include killing some, sure why not.

Oh yeah, Let the destruction begin.

The Mayor knows better.

The Washington Mayor knows exactly what she can get away with, talk about racism.

Blatantly obvious.

Challenge her ? No way anyone who did would be branded a racists .
