Oppenheim says. "There's all these older folks acting like younger folks. There's a freedom to that, a beauty to that. It challenged ideas and stereotypes I had about aging."

There was a whole long thread about this back in January about the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and the slightly above teenage writer/director. Personally (just MY opinion!) I found it kind of embarrassing and really not representative of life here. Maybe if it wasn't considered a "documentary" it wouldn't have seemed so bad to me.
EDIT: Here is the original thread in the "movies" section: https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...out-us-302298/ There was a TRAILER posted there as well: some kind of heaven trailer - Google Search |
Interesting article - between my parents and my aunt and uncle they lived more than 30 years in TV. Not one of them was ever a cheerleader. Not one of them looked for another relationship, or took mind altering drugs. I think this young director was looking for extraordinary things and among over 100,000 people he found some.

I wonder if he first read "Leisureville"?

Young Mr. Oppenheim seems to have been so overwhelmed by what he was seeing, that he completely lost sight of the bigger picture that he was actually seeing
I found that age group to be very 'lacking' when it came time to really figure out what the cause of a problem was in the workplace...often they'd stop at the first thing that they found and declare victory, totally unaware that there were other issues. |
