testing

Does anyone know if and where there is testing for the virus?

Topspinmo 07-01-2020 07:56 AM

Sign on mulberry lane just before mulberry rec center going west. I guess the urgent care there does testing by appointment. I sure more throughout villages . You probably have to pay for it.

This may help... from the Sumter County website...

"Free COVID-19 Viral Testing Events
The Sumter County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 Testing. For more information on community locations, dates and times, please visit Events List Page | Florida Department of Health in Sumter or contact the Sumter County Health Department by phone (352-569-3102) or by email (AskSumter@FLHealth.gov)."

Please note that this is not antibody testing.

I saw a sign on a building on 441/27 on the North bound side between Spanish Springs bridge and the Villages Hospital, no other details, I was moving at 45 MPH and no time to read the sign.

Donate blood at One Blood, free test.
Correction: free antibody test

Are Villagers getting tested because they have symptoms or just out of curiosity? There were about 40 cars at Walgreens drive thru testing this morning.

Testing could spread the virus

woderfulwendy1 07-02-2020 05:54 AM

You can get tested today and catch it the following day. Unless you have symptoms, why? Are you going to get tested weekly?

One Blood tests for the antibodies to see if you have had the virus, not for the active virus.

OneBlood & COVID 19 | OneBlood

Was scheduled for testing but canceled because all that would tell you is that you don’t have it that day? I’m waiting for the antibody tests. More interested in knowing I came into contact with it, which is inevitable, and have the antibodies!

Good to know. That’s the only test I’m interested in

Exactly!

Walgreens at Deaton Plaza testing every day. You have to sign in on Walgreens website.

Domenick 07-02-2020 07:35 AM

I do not like the idea of having Walgreens doing testing. It brings people who may have the virus to an area where I need to go to get my prescriptions.

WhiteToast 07-02-2020 08:31 AM

I agree...

I agree. Moving all the possibly infected people away from the drive-thru Rx window would be a great idea. For two days in a row I passed on picking up my scripts.

I've been Covid tested at Sumter County Health Dept. it was free and efficient. Tested Negative.

My doctor ordered an Antibody test through Quest. Also Negative.
