25 new cases today 7/8/20
Isn't it time for TV to cut back some activities? Also isn't it time for our "leaders" to say something other than we are doing great?
Just asking |
Their watching this closely. They've done a great job so far.

What can they say that has not already been said?
"They" have stated repeatedly that to minimize the spread they "recommend" wearing a mask. Fifty percent or more do not wear masks. Most of that 50% does not bother with social distancing. There is more testing hence more cases. By the way what does "case" mean. Do you know that if the same person gets tested again and still shows positive that is two cases (and so on)? We already know what to do and too many are not doing it. So until a vaccine or treatment becomes available the numbers are what ever they are for that day. Know for sure that until people do what it takes this nightmare can only continue. |

Wear a mask. We don't buy food that is prepared in restaurants. Use common sense. When people are TOLD what to do it makes them ugly, some of them, who didn't have a mother who gave them "THE LOOK". |

Real Active Cases
They started reporting cases in March in Sumter Co. We now have 347 cases, is that a cumulative number? Doesn't anyone ever get better? We have had 17 deaths for weeks, are the included in that number? The prisoners in Bushnell are also included. How many real active cases do we have? Also taking into account the people who have tested more than once and are counted each time. Just Curious. Len

The total number of cases is cumulative. How many of those folks are actively contagious? Looking at the daily "new" counts for the last 14 days would give a rough approximation, but recoveries aren't tracked very well.

Testing positive is not a death warrant. Many "positives" show no symptoms; the majority of others have very mild symptoms.
It is the number of hospitalizations and deaths with which we should be concerned - an increase in either/both of those would be worrying. Until then, follow the advice already given and, if you choose to do so, avoid contact with others. |
