Smart home ready?
 

I’ve noticed that the new home listings show a feature called Smart Home Ready or something similar. What does that mean exactly and how could I use that to the best advantage? I’m not super techie but do enjoy modern conveniences, Alexa etc. thanks

Call the villages sales office and ask them specifically what this means. With all of the wireless equipment IMHO any house is 'Smart home ready' so this may be nothing more than a tag line. There are several companies that offer equipment for making homes smart, the downside to this is you (the owner) needs to be smart enough to make sure all of the appropriate security measures are in place so that this equipment is not used against you.

It means that you get the lower end ecobee Wi-Fi thermostat (ecobee 3). The retail for that is 169.00. Nice but hardly a complete smart home.
