What we have learned to do differently due to current pandemic

The negatives are pretty much covered in daily communications.
But what about the improvements or the good that has resulted from the pandemic changing how we conduct our lives?

I think the scheduling and routines for doctors appointments has created a more comfortable, less crowded wait rooms and more on time actual appointments.

Having found other than "normal" grocery shopping times when stores are less busy.

We don't really have to go to all the places we used to think we had to go.

What positive have you experienced?

With more time on my hands walking a lot more. Daily goal is average of 15,000 steps and been doing it for past few months.

Great way to control weight allowing me to eat what I would like instead of worrying about my weight.

we now plan our meals for a full week at a time, we make a shopping list and we only go to the grocery store once a week now

we are far more aware of the need to continually gift to charities throughout the year to help those in need

Since we only go out typically for shopping have been doing it twice a week just for something to do.

Very careful in store and always wear a mask.

I forgot to mention one other positive experience...

I never dreamed that I could walk into a bank with a mask on, ask for money and walk out without any issues

I think Social Distancing has been the real bonus from the virus.
Hope it continues well after a cure or vaccine is found!:icon_wink:

I have learned how to really wash my hands properly. I have learned that you never need to go into a grocery store, they will deliver the food. I have learned to play some new games.

I have learned that prime video has some really good shows.

I have learned how to cut hair (after a fashion).

Buying groceries on line for last few years, haven’t stepped into a brick and mortar store for the same amount of time.
Still golfing 7 days a week. Always walking about 7 miles a day.

Wore a mask for the better part of 45 years.

Big difference is nobody is paying me to wear it!

My mom has for over the lasT 15 years has always gotten a bad case of bronchitis That last for a month and she really gets weak. This year nothing no sickness, no cough it has been a great year for her.

So we have learn the value of safety during seasonal Cold and flu times and keeping her out of arms way.
She has stated going forward she will 100% practice safety during cold and flu season.

I have taken up the hobby of wooden model ship building. It is time consuming and so I never thought I would have the time. I have plenty of time now and just completed my first model. I would really like to find other ship modelers here in TV if there are any.

I have learned to wave more and verbally say hello more often since our smiles are hidden. I think losing the simple non verbal communication of a smile from those around us is a huge Detriment for each and every one of us and robs society as a whole. It’s even worse that we lose the hugs and handshakes. These non-verbal connections are an important aspect of mental health for everyone. Some need it more than others. I will also still give hugs to friends who need it.

Being a homebody myself, I can finally have my boo stay home and not always want to go out for dinner. I also love social distancing, not fond of fighting other people's diseases. Used to feel self conscious about eating garlic and its after smell but now feel its a positive to keep people away!
