Courtyard Villa Tree Removal

I received approval from ARC that I can remove a tree (as I live in a CYV), would that include having to remove the stump?

IMHO, if you do not remove the stump, you may have a new tree in a few months, as for ARC requirements to remove the stump I have no idea, see comment above.

I guess it bigger than 4” around and not palm? Why wouldn’t you want the stump removed (ground below the ground level, their really not going to remove it just grind it below ground level, the rest will rot out in few years), removal can be tricky if you live in middle of street with other CYV’s behind you depending on how big the tree?

In most cases when the ARC gives approval for any type of tree removal it includes special stipulations that the stump must be ground down and the area restored back to its natural condition. Check your paperwork and make sure what exactly was approved.

As a sidenote, when the tree is cut down, you can drill a few holes in the stump and fill them with epsom salts and the stump will deteriorate. I did this with a small palm in my backyard and I was surprised a year later when the stump was mostly gone (I had to fill in with a bit of dirt).

Usually stump grinding Separate job and fee, unless the contractor included it the estimate.
