Taking a Knee

I’m so sick of watching those coddled millionaire athletes disrespecting our flag that I’ll never watch another sporting event. I served in Vietnam to give those idiots a chance to excel in this great country and I take it as a personal assault on me when they disrespect our flag and our country. Every one of those b******s should have to spend two years in the Armed Forces to see what a great country they live in.

Thank you for your service, sir. It’s an insult to all Americans and our family will not be a part of it in any way.

JSR22 07-31-2020 06:17 PM

They are not disrespecting the flag!

Stu from NYC 07-31-2020 06:18 PM

Thank you for your service.

My father and father in law served in WW11 and I believe it is disrespect of our flag and what it stands for.

I see that or blm painted on basketball court and immediately change the channel.

Actually no, that's not what you served for. You served so that we could enjoy the freedom to stand, kneel, sit, or hop on one leg for the flag.

Yep, you have the right to do anything that isn't illegal but that doesn't make it morally right to disrespect the flag. They ARE disrespecting the flag as they are doing their morality deficient act during the playing of the anthem and that is why they do it at that time. Too many good and brave people of all colors have been buried under that flag for some ingrate moron to disrespect it.

Agree completely. Isn't it great to be lectured to about military service by someone who has never served a day in the military! Those who don't want to show respect for our flag should STFU and go find some other flag to live under. And please buy a one-way ticket when you leave.

When this first started I stopped watching the NFL and now have added baseball and basketball. And I will not buy anything made by Nike.

Bonita Baker 07-31-2020 07:48 PM

They are taking a knee to protest police brutality, it has nothing to do with disrespecting this country or the military.

I served as well...I stand for the anthem and the flag to honor those that throughout history have made the ultimate sacrifice....these pampered overpaid jerks, that merely play a kids game, need to stop being disrespectful

and to all the bleeding hearts...a simple 'thank you' would be nice

like a lot of us, it's very questionable whether I watch any more sports on TV or live...

Bring on Hockey. At least there is still one of the major 4 sports left that does not disrespect the flag.

adherence to the law is liberty...those are the words over the court house in the city where I was raised

come on, no cop is ever going to beat on anyone unless they resist, cause the officer to feel threatened or try to harm them...read that as 'stupid behavior' on the part of the individual (not the cops)

just maybe all parents should be educating and telling their kids to not break the law, to not resist an officer and to do what a policeman is telling them to do....so is that
happening?

the time to argue your case is not when the police are trying to bring you in....it's when you have your day in court

not really a difficult concept to grasp....been the process for quite a few years....just saying

As I read this thread, I am struck by a few things.

On this forum, folks want no demonstrations (I agree with no violence), no peaceful shows of disagreement like kneeling, etc., respect Tea Party demonstrators who replaced our flag with "don't tread on me", ignore white supremacists who incite demonstrators (I say that because on this forum nobody even acknowledge them to exist). My "unofficial" tally reflects the same folks in this camp.

I served in the military for 6 years...I have absolute total respect for my flag and what it stands for, but I get it with the protests. What I don't get is why nobody gets upset with people scratching their private parts, kissing, talking, eating during that same anthem.

Seems that those who kneel have much more understanding of our flag and its meaning than most. Yet, those are the folks that get pummeled on here (coincident most are black ?)

We were warned not to be political on here, but this is that.
