Looking for honest, reliable, non-dealer repair service for my 2012 Mazda Miata
 

I'm looking for an auto repair shop in the area that works on Mazdas and is not a dealer. The radio LED display no longer works and the dealers wants $1200 to replace the radio. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Accu-Tech on 301 in Oxford just outside The Villages. He is good with Miatas.

Not sure if Accu Tech would work on a radio although as mechanics they are great and I know lots of Miata owners go there. There is a car stereo place on 301 in downtown Wildwood. They would probably recommend a different radio than stock but I am sure it would be no where near $1200.

We have been going to Wildwood Tire for service on our 2003 Acura and our 2005 Honda and we have been very pleased with their work.

Whatever you do, don’t bring your car to Accurso Automobile Repair unless you want to get ripped off. Brought our BMW there for an oil change and was told I needed to replace my power steering hydronic lines. They charged me $650 for new lines and about a month later the car started leaking power steering fluid. Brought the car to a much better mechanic who actually replaced the two lines for only $300. He showed me the lines that Accurso claimed they replaced, and they were the original cracked lines. All Accurso did was a very poor job of trying to re-crimp the old lines where they attached to the pump. Will never go back to that place and I sincerely hope no one else gets ripped off by them.

I ordered everything you need from Crutchfield for my Miatas. Every radio comes with in depth instructions for your car, including wiring harness. Great prices.

Accu-Tech fixed a problem for $100 when I was quoted $1,500 elsewhere.

If the OP wants to keep his Miata original, then he may be able to find a used radio from a junked Miata. There are a number of sources for used Miata parts on the internet. I have used Planet Miata in the past.
