Home Construction

I'm in the process of purchasing a Gardinia home in The Villages built in 2013.

I want to hang TV wall mounts on the interior walls. Does anyone know if the interior studs are metal or wood and are they on 16" centers? What about the garage studs?
Is it safe to use "snap" toggle bolts into the drywall? Any help will be appreciated.

I think you will need to check each wall to determine if they are wood or metal studs. Sometimes they use metal studs for the high walls to keep the drywall straight, and wood studs for the lower walls. If the house is concrete block or concrete, the garage walls may only have furring strips, no studs. I wouldn't trust drywall anchors for hanging a television.

In our home we have found that they are metal and not 16" on center. In fact they are not consistently spaced at all. Some are less than 16" and some are more.

The interior walls may be either wood or metal, but probably both.

Toggler Snaptoggle bolts are ideal for your purpose. Extremely strong.
I used them for my wall mount TV as well as heavy duty shelf brackets in the closets.

While hanging the TV bracket, just mark and drill where you want it.
If you hit nothing, use a "Snaptoggle" bolt.
If you hit a metal stud, drill through it and use a "Snaptoggle bolt. (it's only a half inch hole)
If you hit a wood stud, use a large wood screw.

Below is an Amazon link but can buy them at any hardware or big box store.

We have a gardenia 2013 vintage, and there are both metal and wood studs. You can get your house plans from the Sumter County building department. As for the TV mount, IMHO, it depends on the size and weight of the TV and VERY IMPORTANT if the TV will be flush mounted or on and arm, and the size of the mounting plate. On our 75inch TV, I installed a 4 foot (or so) by 6 inch piece of 1/2 inch plywood across 3 studs and attached with screws at each stud, the attached the mounting strip to the plywood. This is a flush mount installation. On a neighbors house with a large and much heavier TV we installed to 3/4 inch boards across 4 studs then installed the mount on the boards.
Hope this helps.
