Lights Out

We’ve lost electricity in Silver Lake. Anyone know what’s going on?

We seem to be fine up in Country Club Hills, and the Paradise Rec Center was up and running when I drove by around 4:45.

I spoke with Duke energy yesterday and they said that the outage was reported around 3:30 and was affecting over 1,000 customers. They said my power would be back on by 6:30. It came back on at about 4:40.

I'm surprised by the number of power outages here. Although it's not a huge number, I can't recall it happening up north. It seems that once or twice every summer (not including hurricanes) we lose power for a short time. It seems like it was maybe once or twice every 20 years in New England.

Me too, went to watch TV and the wife said "Darling, the wind stopped blowing, maybe tomorrow the power will come on":icon_wink:

We have not experienced any power outages in Mallory Square and we are here full time since 2016. We didn't even lose power during the last hurricane that came through.

We did have a ~2hr "blackout" one evening a year or so ago here in Amelia and surrounding areas but other than that nothing. I remember driving down Morse in 100% darkness around 10PM which is why I remember it. There wasn't even a flicker during IRMA down here while the 441 area really got hit bad. That was terrible for residents there.

I think the historic side is bit more prone to random outages due to an older infrastructure and more above ground poles on the outskirts.
