Has anyone ever installed one?

Easy install. The peep hole package will tell you what size drill bit to use. Try to keep the drill level and drill directly thru your door. Then you insert one side into the hole that will have threads. The other side will have female threads and you simple turn until snugged up on both sides of the door. Don't forget to determine the best height for you and/or your wife.

There are also electronic versions that have a screen on the inside so you do not have to put your eye up to the eyepiece, but the advice above is accurate, and any handyman should be able to drill the hole if you cannot.
