Figured they filed under bankruptcy cutting losses. With high rents more will close unfortunately. Was my go to place for occasional Liverwurst or Pastrami sandwich. Now I make my own Pastrami. Similar to Katz Deli N.Y..

Sad to see it go. I always enjoyed eating there.

Sad to see it go. We had dinner there three weeks ago and it was virtually empty.

Always liked their burgers and grilled chicken breasts

I hope this is not a harbinger of things to come for LSL and Brownwood locations.

My golf group went there for brunch today and were saddened/disappointed to see the sign on the door. I don’t know of another breakfast place, other than Dunkin Donuts, on the Square now.

good or bad it is a sign of the times for the older areas of the Villages. Progress, or not of the worst kind.

That explains it.

Sadly about 15,000 restaurants in the US have closed permanently in recent months. I would not be surprised if there are more to follow.

Concerned about it as we really like it but down the road some new ones will come.

There was an article in a paper (I don't remember which one, I don't even remember if it was a local one or not) back in early May about TooJay's closing shop. Not just ours but the entire chain. I'd love to see a REAL deli move in to that spot - was not fond at all of TooJay's pastrami melts. It was just boiled pastrami, not grilled as it should be. The grease should've been dripping down the side of my hand when I picked it up. Plus it wasn't thin-sliced, so if you took a bite, you'd end up with half the meat being yanked out from between the bread.

The knishes were okay. Not great, but okay.

Entire chain, announced on April 30th.........right after they received $6mil in PPP funds. That part will be interesting as well.
