Climate Change

The west coast is being devastated by fires. They seem to get worse each year.

CBS news blames the west coast fires on climate change? The fires might be the cause of climate change. Smoke covered most of the west coast.

Prayers for all there.

Two of the large ones were because of a reveal party and arson.

According to fire ecologists it is not only climate change but a lack of forest maintenance due to under funding.

In todays (9/14) daily Sun there is a picture of Lake Powel and the intake structures for Hoover Dam, and the water is really very low due to lack of rain.

We have a son out in South Pasadena...no danger of fire where they are, however he says that the air quality is horrible

The pictures of the red sky in SF and Oakland reminded me of the movie "Total Recall"

We heard that sweeping the forest floors before would be good. When you have temperatures over 100 degrees for weeks along with arson, lightning it’s catastrophic

Good post! Just goes to show that our "newspaper of record" speaks with forked tongue. I thought UC Berkeley was one of the most liberal universities in the country. It must not be far left enough for the government of California to pay attention.

It is a La Nina year - correlated with dry and warm weather in the west.
