New Air Conditioner Recommendations

I'm trying to search for thoughts/suggestions on companies for installation of a new ac and possible a heat pump for the lanai.

Some of the messages that I was able to pull up were old messages from 2016 with a few current.

Anyone recently installed a new AC system and who did you go with and were you pleased. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you,

If you are referring to a complete HVAC system, there is a recent thread titled, "Need to replace Central Air Conditioning Unit".

If you just want a split heat pump system for the lanai, I would suggest calling Munn's. I think they can install a unit for about $4,000.

Chuck Farrell. I think if you research the most recent posts you will find numerous recommendations. They installed my new American Standard/Trane 3.5 ton variable speed 2 1/2 years ago. I received 4 quotes and they saved me from $800-$1200 over the others. Could not be happier with the sales and service.

Thank you

We just had a Carrier split A/C with remote control installed a couple of months ago and it's flat and installed in the ceiling with vents that slowly move automatically to distribute the air. We love it and had it installed by Kalos A/C company.

Mitsubishi makes a high efficiency whole house unit. Supposed to be great (according to the company that installed my split)

Thanks everyone for your input. Greatly appreciated.

Munn's just replaced ours with a larger, more efficient unit - they were here within a week, got it done (relocated the outside unit) in less than 3 hours, and it is awesome - very quiet with digital thermostat and gas furnace (could have gotten heat pump but didn't - had former less-than-great experience with them). Would definitely recommend Munn's, they were reasonable.

:) Hope they (Munns) also filled out the conservation rebate forms for you. If you went from natural gas heat to natural gas heat, you get a $500.00 check from TECO. Conservation Rebates - Peoples Gas :ho:

No gas in our neighborhood either. That really thru a wrench into our stove selection. Solved it with induction but still would prefer gas to heat water and the house
