Parking in Driveway on a regular basis.

I have read the posts on parking a car in your driveway. My conclusion is that it is permitted. For 1 car garage home I would like to know about what percent of the residences park a car in their driveway overnight on a regular basis. What is your opinion of parking a car in the driveway on a regular basis? Thank you.

We live in a CYV neighborhood and several people always have a car parked int their driveway. On our street alone I know of at least 5 homes that always have one sitting out on a regular basis.

I see very few cars parked in driveways on a regular basis. In some cases it is necessary.

My opinion? I couldn't care less. I don't consider a parked car an eyesore.

Myself? I always drive my car into the garage even if it's for a few minutes. The sun is a big enemy of the car.

There's nothing wrong with parking your car in your driveway.

Agree, as long as the car is fully in the drive.
Me, I am like Pturner, me and the wife ALWAYS park in the garage to protect it.

driveway or the street.you can park where you prefer.

Paulandjean,
Depending where you live as far as parking on the street. In CYV neighborhoods you can not park on the street. Any guests must use the designated overflow areas.

In our development (suburb of the great metropolis of Memphis TN) you can only have one car outside your garage. period. You can get fined, lien put on property. At least it's OK for short time visitors.

Glad to know it's not a TV issue

Down the block from me a home owner put up a nice looking red tin roof. He didn't get permission from the Architectural committee.
No tin allowed and red color is a no no also.
Down it came. Combining comments of two threads in one. Hope that's OK...

It beats parking it on the lawn.... that'll kill the grass.

Army Guy 08-20-2010 12:13 PM

There is no lawn parking, that will get you a fine big time.

I don't believe there is any covenent which says u cannot park ur car in the driveway. There may be something which says one cannot park an unregistered car in the driveway, but other than that example parking in driveway is ur right as a homeowner.
