Fishkeeping with high pH Wildwood city water
 
I was surprised to learn that the Wildwood city water has a pH of 8.4, so much so that initially I suspected measurement error. I was even more surprised to learn that the EPA considers anything between 6.5 and 8.5 to be acceptable. I doubt that there are many species of freshwater tropical fish that would agree.

I wonder how the other fishkeepers in the Villages have learned to cope with this.

The folks that sell the NOVA water filtration system used to provide the filtration systems for commercial fish tanks in NYC and maintain them using the same set up that they sell down here.....

might be a solution for you to consider
