Junk Sheriff Cars
Has the Sumter County Sheriff run out of places to park his old patrol cars? They have appeared on a number of roads in TV. I assume he believes he can stop speeders by parking these old and unneeded cars on the side of our streets but they are an eyesore and should be removed. If there is a speeding problem, have the deputies do their job and write tickets. Maybe he can sell some of those unneeded vehicles and gain some cash for his department.

Few drive down BV or Morse 35 MPH, in most spots. Add el Camino Reno too. |

They slow people down, and I don't think they are eyesores.

We don't speed (our cart is locked on 20) but we even slow down to see if someone is in it once in awhile. THAT would be a good deterrent if they put someone in it once in awhile.

by the time the Sheriff is ready to mothball a used patrol car it is practically worthless....hundreds of thousands of miles on them, an interior worn out and a dash riddled with holes from equipment that had been installed and removed, if the tires were in good shape they've been replaced with worn out tires from another vehicle...replacement parts are expensive because the cars are designed for high performance and are built differently than the cars sold to John Q. Public...add to that the cost of repainting it... |

Do you really think these vehicles if not used by deputies are worth very much? |
