Spruce Creek

I just had one of those great phone calls with an old army buddy. We enlisted "buddy system" in 1968. The poor guy had to serve 3 years in Washington D.C. while I got to go to Nam. He said it got hot and muggy in Washington. Luck for me it was pretty cool in III corps. Anyway, we keep making plans to visit him in Maine, but family obligations keep getting in the way. While talking on the phone he mentioned that he and his wife would be visiting his father-in-law in Florida. I told him that we had just purchased a home in tv and he said he thought that his father-in-law lived nearby in a place called Spruce Creek. Can anyone tell me if that is close to tv? I would love to see him again and collect the $3.00 he still owes me!!

Spruce Creek is on 27/441 about 1/4 to 1/2 mile north of the Wal-mart on the southbound side.

Be a sport Brostholder, forget the $3 and allow him to buy you a drink. Good luck with your reunion

Spruce Creek

I think there are two Spruce Creek's, one Del Webb - on east side, and one on west side, Right? Both less than 2 miles.

The community known as Spruce Creek South is adjacent to the northern part of TV. The other community is called Del Web’s Spruce Creek and is roughly 5 miles north of TV on 441.

Isn't there another Del Webb community near Ocala (maybe Stone Creek?)? It might be further away and newer, but not sure.

Thanks everyone. I hope he doesn't panic when I tell him that with interest, the $3 he borrowed in 1968 is now 2.5 million. I'll probably settle for a beer.

Hi Brostholder,
I'd love to know how the reunion goes. Bet it's very special. Keep us posted.
