Golf Cart Garages

We are getting closer and closer to retirement and moving to The Villages.

Keep seeing golf cart garages that are 16-18 feet deep, is this deep enough for 2 standard size golf carts, like the Yamaha Quietech.

You could put two standard golf carts in tandem with that much room. The average golf cart is a couple of inches short of 8' in length. The 4 seater with two rear facing seats average about 9' in length. The 4 seater all facing forward as shown below, is about 12' in length. I might see one of those a month. Usually if someone wants one for visitors you can rent one from TV Cart stores or some of the other cart places.

Golf cart garage

Just beware, not all golf cart garages are that deep. Some only fit 1 cart.

As noted by John W above, carts are 8 feet long. Anything less than an 18 foot deep tandem cart garage would require parking almost flat against the front wall and touching bumpers. And, if you have bags hanging off the back or the rain cover is down on the cart the odds are the overhead door will be blocked. If the cart "stall" is located on the "inside" side of the garage you will want at least a couple of extra feet of space to walk into the home thru the door in the garage when the carts are parked. Given all that, a minimum 20 foot depth is best for a tandem cart garage.
If you are considering electric carts be sure electrical outlets are appropriately placed along the wall.

Safer bet is a three car garage. You will lose some space when you realize storage here is limited and you start putting shelves in the garage, or lawn mowers and other stuff. We have a car and two carts and the three car garage works out great. Nothing is worse than the cart you need to take is parked in front of the other cart when parking in tandem.

Try to go with a 3 car garage. The extra width will be a blessing.

Each model (if buying new) are different in depth. Probably the largest standard golf cart garage is a Woodside. Easily you can get 2 deep. Mossy Oak MUCH smaller. Huge house, but you’ll only get 1 deep, period! Plus, even the spec homes are coming with expanded garages that add 2, 4 or even 6 feet of depth. 3 car garage, awesome! Definitely look at each model, new or preowned before you buy.

Pure hell of moving one cart out to get at the other cart is just unbearable nothing could be worse then having only a 2 car garage for 2 carts

I get the sarcasm, but let's hope your wife agrees when she is the one that needs to shuffle them. :)

Never enough garage space, never.
